Dr. Michael Williams, UTC’s Director of Africana Studies, will lead a compelling talk on the cultural, historical, and spiritual significance of these songs and their role in shaping African American identity. Following his presentation, local vocalists will bring these timeless works to life through live performances that uplift, inspire, and remind us of the resilience woven into this musical tradition.
